Secretary hails PNG-Japan relations

THE Papua New Guinea-Japan bilateral relations continues to remain strong, Foreign Affairs and Trade acting deputy secretary policy Jacintia Warakai-Manua says.
Warakai-Manua made the comments at the Japanese Embassy in Port Moresby on Wednesday at an occasion to celebrate the accession of the new Emperor of Japan, His Majesty Emperor Naruhito.
“This is evident through significant economic relations, development cooperation and partnerships as well as active participation in various international organisations,” Warakai-Manua said.
Japanese Ambassador Satoshi Nakajima said: “Japan’s new imperial era coincides with significant developments in Papua New Guinea’s natural resources sector that could potentially transform the lives of people in Papua New Guinea.
