He said teachers’ resumption of duty summary sheets (Rodds) was supposed to happen last week but with the shutdown of services, the remaining teachers Rodss on hand would now be affected.
“Auto-suspension or automated suspension happens when the system (Alesco payroll) suspends teachers when their resumption of duty form is not registered in the system,” he said.
“This is a normal process that falls around this time of the year.”
Dr Kombra said after suspension, the affected teachers would be restored on payroll after their Rodss copies were explained by provincial education advisors.
He said the provinces with the highest number of teachers that would be affected by the auto-suspension were;

  • MOROBE;
  • SOUTHERN Highlands;
  • MADANG;
  • CHIMBU;
  • EAST Sepik;
  • EASTERN Highlands;
  • WEST New Britain and;
  • WEST Sepik

The provinces’ Rodss processed at the head office due to no internet connectivity including Gulf, Western, Southern Highlands, Western New Britain, Jiwaka and Hela.
Dr Kombra said 16 provinces were responsible for managing their teachers’ Rodss, fourteen were able to put in their Rodss except West Sepik and Morobe that had issues with manpower and internet connections.
He said the issues of Rodss data entry where they were slow to process teachers’ Rodss and delayed signing by education advisors.

  • How about Manus province, are all the RODSS done? If not, how many teachers in the province will be affected?

  • Why East sepik will have a huge number of teachers affected when RODSS 2021 are effected on April 23rd thisshouldn’t be ,because the province has the alesco system .

  • Teacher were informed earlier for the resumption date,2021.Hope most of the teachers have filled the RODSS on the set date by the NDoE calendar, 2021 and are secured prior to effective services link including road,internet… etc.However, minority but very faithful ones poster to the very remote rural areas are fortunate to be affected. Should the Education Secretary consider for them,if concerns raised what would be some alternatives and assumptions prior to this ongoing issue, the Auto Suspension System
