Secretary to present details of UBS loan in next sitting

FINANCE secretary Dr Ken Ngangan has advised the Commission of Inquiry into the Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) loan deal yesterday that he would present his documentations on June 3.
He told the inquiry he had not received any letter from the Commission for his attendance except for the hearing yesterday.
Ngangan is among senior government officials who have been directed by the inquiry to provide information, documents or evidences that would assist the commission in its findings.
In attendance was secretary to Government House Billy Toraso.
Toraso having been appointed last year, told the inquiry that they did not locate any documents on the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) loan.
He was expected to provide copies of the contract, National Executive Council advice and submission.
The inquiry directed him to file an affidavit in compliance with the directions with regards to the commission of records and provision of contracts of loans.
Toraso was directed to submit the affidavit on June 3.
Meanwhile, acting chief secretary Isaac Lupari was represented by his counsel Nicholas Tame who appeared briefly for mention and was adjourned to June 3.
