THE disciplined forces are seen as key agents of the Government to play an influential role in the development of the nation, according to Enga Governor Sir Peter Ipatas.
Sir Peter said the police, defence force and Correctional Services were important for taking the country forward.
He said the Government should look into their welfare and consider their working conditions and needs.
Sir Peter said the reasons for his constant calls for Australian police was to help the locals police provide proper policing service, fix the law and order situation and help train locals.
“Without these forces, the country would face so many issues such as increase in crime and law and order disruptions,” he said.
“We need to attract developers, people need to change their mindset and create a better image for the country. To see those wishes come through, our security forces need to be adequately equipped and respected.”
Sir Peter said without the defence force, police and Correctional Services, the country would face all sorts of crisis which would discourage investors, growth and employment. “We need to be proud of our forces and make sure that they serve their purposes and received the needed support,” he said.
“I would like to commend the members of the disciplinary forces who are in Enga to help maintain peace and order.”
