Seeking jobs on phone
The National, Wednesday May 14th, 2014
LANDING that dream job is set to become a whole lot easier for PNG residents thanks to a new service that will allow jobseekers to search and apply for jobs via their mobile or smartphone.
PNGJOBSEEK, a purpose-built job board specifically tailored for the local market, went live on May 1 in what is a landmark development for recruitment in PNG.
The board has been launched in the National Capital District with a plan to be rolled out to other provinces.
PNG Recruitment specialist Justine Mills, who has 20 years recruitment, experience including 10 years in PNG will operate the service.
Mills has assembled a team of recruitment experts who know the PNG job market inside-out.
“The PNGJOBSEEK team know exactly what candidates are looking for and what employers want,” she said
Mills said the service would deliver huge benefits to employers and recruiters.
“It takes just minutes to list a job and adverts will remain online for 30 days, during which time they can be modified at any time,” she said.
The board was launched by Taies Sansan, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Personnel Management on April 30.
The easy-to-use and operate service has job listings in more than 16 categories and is linked to Digicel’s mobile network.
