Sepik citizens chip in to help students’ show

THE Sepik provincial day at the University of Papua New Guinea set for tomorrow at the campus Drill Hall was boosted by financial assistance from several Sepik citizens.
East Sepik Students union president Vincent Gonduan said the event gained momentum every year with the support from the public and  the Sepik communities in Port Moresby and around the country.
The union acknowledged the support from Angoram MP and Public Enterprise s minister Arthur Somare, owner of Garamut Group of Companies under the the franchise name Boroko Food World Danny Tjoeng,   Wagambie Lawyers principal Michael Wagambie and Department for Community Development secretary Joseph Klapat.
The union also appointed Stephen Sallun as next year’s provincial day chairman.
Sallun assured  that next year’s celebrations would be bigger and better.
Tomorrow’s event will see singsing groups  showcasing  their culture and also live band performances.
