Sepik-Morobeans are just like African Americans

Letters, Normal

I wish to correct a misconception about the situation in Bulolo between the so-called Sepiks and locals.
The fact is the people living there are not Sepiks at all.
They are by birth Morobeans and some are third and fourth generation Morobeans.
Their ancestors brought development to the township of Bulolo and Morobe, and now the Morobeans are trying to remove them after what they have done.
This situation can be likened to the US where the blacks fought hard and are now recognised as African Americans.
The blacks, Italians and many others were the main perpetrators of crime in the US in the 1950s and 1960s but the American did not at anytime try to have them repatriated or deported to their place of origin.
These people, who are by blood and name Sepiks, are in fact Sepik-Morobeans like the African Americans.
These people must be seen for what they are and who they are.
They cannot and must not be classified as Sepiks because Morobe has become their home.
This is discrimination and, unfortunately, it will never stop.
After the so-called Sepiks are gone, the landowners will turn on Highlanders, Papuans and even Morobeans from other parts of Morobe, which is not Bulolo.
At this juncture, I call on their leaders, Bulolo MP Sam Basil and Morobe Governor Luther Wenge, to solve this problem within the confines of the Morobe government and administration as these people are their taxpayers, electors and friends.
