CHRISTIANS must be passionate about serving God if they really want to make a difference in the community, the National Capital District Pastors Fraternal chairman Vincent Miria says.

Miria said having an intense life of prayer and good character were the hallmarks of a true Christian who would make an impact in the community.

He was speaking on the subject ‘Discovering your potential and identity with Christ in your life’ at the end of a five-day convention at the International Prayer and Prophetic Ministries in Morata last Sunday.

Miria said true believers in Christ should acquaint themselves more with their neighbours and communities to identify problems and engage with them in prayer.

He urged pastors and members of the body of believers in Port Moresby to be vigilant in their planning.

“Preparation is paramount when trying to chart a course for the future and I would strongly recommend that you look ahead and know where you will end up,” he said.

“Cultivate the Word of God in every aspect of your lives and apply faith so that you can withstand the tribulations and trials that come your way.”

Miria and wife Caroline are the founders and directors of Ruach International Ministries with 36 years of active Christian ministry which has taken him to various parts of the world and also get connected to international spiritual leaders.

Due to his heavy schedule this year, Miria said plans to hold a 40-day school of ministry in the nation’s capital next year where there would be intense prayer, fasting and teaching and training would be undertaken.

“When this training is complete, I hope to send people who are passionate about missions to various countries including Indonesia, the Philippines and other parts of Asia to work among people of different races and faith such as Muslims and Hindus,” he said.

Miria said he was also working with local and international covenant partners to sponsor those who had the heart for world missions.

He is also the country leader for the All Peoples Prayer Assembly –PNG (APPA).
