SERVICE providers are coming on board  as partners to make the orientation programme for first-year students at the PNG University of Technology a successful one.
Cell phone company, Digicel (PNG ) has provided  300 T-shirts, caps and gift packs for first year  students.
The popular  red t-shirts and caps will be worn this weekend when staff and students  take part in a major clean-a-thon drive to clean the University’s Taraka campus on Saturday before classes  start next week.
Digicel’s marketing coordinator for Mamose region Francis Papua presented the items to Unitech’s executive officer for SRC sports Molly Geno.
This is not the first time for the phone company to support student activities at the University.
Last year, the company sponsored the 2010 PNG University Games and was given the naming right to the games.
Meanwhile, BSP’s customer service officers also brought banking services closer to students. They have set up a mobile office at the Duncanson Hall to assist students with queries on opening new bank accounts; SMS banking and additional information on other services the bank provides. They will be at the University until tomorrow.
The weeklong orientation and registration programme will end on Sunday with a combined church service in the morning.
