GAZELLE MP Malakai Tabar has warned the people of Gazelle district in East New Britain to look after bank facilities recently opened there.

Bank South Pacific recently opened a sub-branch in the district.

Tabar said some institutions in Kerevat had ceased operations because of criminal activities.

“Do not break into the new building and disturb banking services,” he said.

“I am calling on families, young men, women and everyone – do not try to steal from the bank.

“This has happened before and we have some idea of who the culprits are.

“Do not deny the many hard working people, especially farmers, who are genuinely part of this endeavor to grow the local economy.”

Banking services in the area were withdrawn for a month last year because of criminal activities.

“I am warning all of us and reminiding everyone that our actions will always catch up with us, if not in this life, it will in the next life,” he said.

“You are suppose to be a good person, a Christian, and from East New Britain where we are friendly to visitors from other provinces and abroad.”
