Set high standards in rugby, aim high

IT is sad to read the article titled ‘Amount of errors in competition worries Marum’ in yesterday’s The National.
The article raises great concerns given that most of the players who represent PNG are back in the country and are participating in the domestic semi-professional competition in Digicel Cup.
Digicel Cup Competition is a third tier competition whereas most of our friends are competing in the Super League and the toughest competition in the world in Australian National Rugby League (NRL) competitions.
Prior to interruptions to the rugby league calendar by Covid-19, PNG Kumuls left the 2019 rugby league year on a very high note when the team outclassed the fancied Great Britain Lions at the Oil Search National Football Stadium. We want the Kumuls to be a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. I urge our players to think big and aim high like our very own Justin Olam.
