Seventeen students from the Gouno Grassroots Catering training services received certificates yesterday after completing a week-long training programme.
The graduates, mostly women and youths from settlements within the city, were sponsored by the National AIDS Council and the National Capital District Commission.
This graduation marked the 22nd batch of graduates from the Goundo catering school, which to date has seen more than 3,000 students getting catering certificates – thanks to the support from public and private organizations throughout the city.
Guest speaker and National AIDS Council director Wep Kanawi, thanked master trainer and principal Wai Havoame for sharing his skills with Papua New Guineans and challenged the graduates to be proud of their skills.
