SEVENTEEN women vendors in Lae, Morobe have completed a training to educate themselves on how to conduct their respective businesses.
The Market Economic Recovery and Inclusive project (Meri project) under United Nations (UN) Women had its second programme (Meri project phase 2), a training concerning women market vendors, especially mothers in informal sector, last week.
A participant of the three-days training, Rebecca Steven, said she learnt a lot in terms of saving and budgeting her income.
Lae Market Vendors and Growers Association president Margret Kumbu said mothers in informal sector needed to cope with the changing world.
UN Women Meri project coordinator Joanne Ganoka said the training focused mainly on market vendors and growers.
