Sevese Morea, Pari win Kricket Blast grand finals

 THE BSP School Kriket Blast for term two concluded earlier in the the week with Pari primary school claiming the trophies for Under-13 and U15 boys divisions while Sevese Morea took home the trophies in the U13 and U15 girls divisions.

The one-day event played out at the Colts Ground synthetic matches saw some impressive talent on display. 

Four schools participated in the competition which included Taurama primary school, St. Theresa’s primary school and the trophy winners Sevese Morea primary school and Pari Primary School.

The U13 boys division saw Pari chase down a mammoth 79/3 set by Sevese Morea while in the girls U13 division, Sevese Morea held on for an 11-run victory over Pari.

The U15 division was no different with Pari taking the boys’ trophy with a 23-run victory. 

In the girls’ division, Sevese Morea took home the trophy with a 13-run victory.

BSP School Kriket development officer and a member of the PNG Garamuts (U19s), Kiplin Doriga thanked the schools who participated in the competition.

“I want to say thank you to all the schools, teachers and students that participated in the BSP School Kriket Blast today. All the matches were played in the right spirit,” Doriga said.

“I also want to thank BSP for their ongoing sponsorship of this programme.” 

Grand final results: U13 boys –Pari Primary School 83/4 defeated Sevese Morea Primary School 79/3  by six wickets; U13 girls – Sevese Morea Primary School 54/3 defeated Pari Primary School 43/5 by 11-runs; U15 boys – Pari Primary School 92/5 defeated Sevese Morea Primary School 69/3                                                          by 23 runs; U15 girls – Sevese Morea Primary School 59/6 defeated Pari Primary School 46/2 by 13 runs.
