Shooters on target for Rio

TEAM PNG performed picking up silver and bronze medals at the Australasian Pacific Grand Prix shooting event at the Brisbane Gun Club, in Australia.
Danny Wanma flew high in his trap event to pick up a silver medal.
He finished 13th overall, while Darcy Leahy finished 33rd, picking up a silver in the junior division.
PNG Shooting Association president Mel Donald said: “We are happy with the progress of our shooters to date.”
The Australasian Pacific Grand Prix was attended by 90 competitors from Australia, Japan and PNG.
The pistol team of Tania Mairi and Mel Donald will be travelling to Thailand next week to compete at the Pistol World Cup in Bangkok while the shotgun team of Daniel Wanma, Darcy Leahy and Angus Donald will be attending the Shotgun World Cup in Nicosia, Cyprus on March 14.
The PNG shooting team for the Olympics will be announced by March 31.
