THE Southern Highlands government which has been without a permanent administrator for a decade held its private public partnership (PPP) alignment meeting at Agiru Centre last Thursday.
Newly-appointed administrator Jerry David told representatives from ExxonMobil, Department of Petroleum and Energy, National Planning and Monitoring, Papua New Guinea Chamber of Mines and Petroleum, public servants and stakeholders that human resources were also withdrawn in 2019.
“As a result, the public service machinery is in tatters and there is little or no correlation with national departments, resource developers and corporate entities to drive a major impact policy agenda in the province,” he said.
“We have now taken the initiative to convene this meeting.
“We are seeking to realign our administrative objectives while mending the missing gaps between our resource developers in implementing high impact projects captured under various project-based agreements.
