A MUSICAL act from the Solomon Islands in the form of Funky N Rushee will be rocking Madang for a worthy cause on Saturday.
The one-night gig at the Coastwatchers Hotel is organized by Poroman Network, a social networking site created to promote PNG.
Concert organiser Rex Sos said the concert was being held to support a medical fundraising drive for an expatriate female teacher from the United States, who used to teach in Enga.
The teacher was in Enga from 1990-94, and was recently diagnosed with liver cancer.
Her former students and colleaguers have decided to organise the fund-raising after they had contacted her through the internet and had sent her herbal medicine from PNG.
Sos explained that all proceeds from the concert will be used to pay for freight and other necessary documents to have the herbal medicine from PNG sent to the US.
Brothers Floyd and Royce Manata, who make up Funky N Rushee, have been rehearsing all week to take the stage in Madang and look set to thrill the party goers on Saturday.
The pair will be entertaining with hits from their first album True Love and second album  Love is Forever  recorded with Studio Melanesia, as well as hits from their albums recorded under the guidance of DJ Ozlam.
This is the first-ever trip for the brothers out of Port Moresby to perform in other parts of the country and they are both very excited.
