Sia must give Lapiso the boot

Letters, Normal

The Bintangor Goroka Lahanis gave another pathetic display, this time against SBS Mendi Muruks.
There is a crisis in the team and it must be addressed quickly by franchise owner and Lahanis board chairman Simon Sia and senior Goroka citizens.
Deputy chairman and Lahanis general manager Himony Lapiso must be sacked or removed from anything to do with the Lahanis.
Since Lapiso took over the reigns, the support for Lahanis has dwindled and the Sir Danny Leahy Oval no longer looks like a home ground of the Lahanis.
Lapiso has put his nose into everything that does not concern him.
Why is he interfering with the coach, team manager and trainer?
They know their job and Lapiso’s colonial master approach has affected the team’s morale.
He must leave the Lahanis and concentrate on the Goroka Cultural Show, which he is the CEO.
Lapiso and self-appointed statistician Danny Nami’s decision to sack 12 players including coach Peter Danga was a personal vendetta.
How can Lapiso make wholesale changes himself?
As a result, the current team is a pale shadow of the former team.
It will take the team another five years to achieve the standard set by last year’s side before it was unceremoniously dumped.
The Lahanis have an easy home game against WGS Hagen Kuris this weekend.
After that, they have tough assignments against Chimbu Warriors, Enga Mioks and City Rangers.
I will not be surprised to see the early demise of my favourite team beginning next Sunday.
Along with Lapiso, Nami must also be sacked.
