Tewai-Siassi MP Vincent Michaels has allocated K1.3 million through DSIP

money to the Sialum LLG to improve services in the sub-district.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the 19 ward councillors in the district, ward three councillor Teddy Moses thanked Michaels saying this was the first time an MP had given such an amount to the ward councillors.

Moses said it was also the first time DSIP monies went to ward councillors.

Sialum LLG president Seket Manasing has distributed K20,000 each to ward councillors in Wasu, Siassi and Sialum to be used on district projects which Moses said would allow for much-needed developmental changes in the districts.

District and ward projects have not been completed due to poor council management and administration and

the funding will help cover costs.

Manasing said uncompleted projects such as Kanome, Wandokai and Bitua aid posts despite allocations of K10,000, would also be completed under the new funding and he urged that such funding be continued annually.
