Siblings block out Telikom

RAUKELE Dolphins sisters Pepetua and Jouly Awadu were in top form restricting champions Telikom 3-2 in the Fairfax premier women’s volleyball 5th round at Murray Barracks courts on Saturday.

The Awadu’s put on their  blocked opposition’s big hitters and placing when they were down 8-5 in the fifth set taking it down to the wire. 

As indicated the score line of 25-16, 23-25, 21-25, 25-10 and 15- 11 the dolphins survived in the fourth set to win the decider.

Raukele coach Kila Dick attributed the win to good team work and combinations making special mention of blockers the Awadu’s for being the difference.

Results: Women’s prem – Dolphins 3 Telikom 2, Freeway 3 Patriots 1, University 3 Sharks 2; A grade – University 3 Sharks 0, Dolphins 3 Telikom 0, Patriots 3 Freeway 0. Men’s prem – University 3 Sharks 0, Dolphins 3 Telikom 2; A grade – Freeway 3 Patriots, University 3 Sharks 0.
