Simbu PX flights disrupted

AN Air Niugini Dash 8 flight to Simbu was disrupted when it burst a tyre upon take off at the Jackson Airport runway in Port Moresby yesterday morning.
The pilot was forced to abort the flight and landed the aircraft safely amid ground aviation emergency services.
PX862 passengers were evacuated and transferred to another aircraft which took off at 10am.
Air Niugini corporate affairs confirmed that the aircraft landed safely and was towed to the hangar for maintenance and repairs.
The airline’s management yesterday afternoon apologised to passengers for the
inconvenience and stressed that safety was of paramount importance to Air Niugini’s domestic and international operations.
