THE Simbu Warriors are set for a return to the Digicel Cup in 2015.

Simbu Governor Noah Kool has approved the move and has registered the franchise after a three-year absence.

Kool, a former PNG Kumul and staunch rugby league supporter, said over the weekend that the resolution to register the team was in response to public outcry over the years.

“The Simbu Warriors is the pride of the province and it is only proper that we provide necessary support to get the Warriors back into the Digicel Cup ,” Kool said.

Sam Goia has been appointed the chairman of the Warrior’s board.

“I am happy that the Governor Kool has come on board to restore the Simbu name through this support,” Goia said.
