Singh unveils big plans for CPL next year

 THE City Pharmacy Ltd group plans to open a world class retail facility in Port Moresby next January.

“It will offer convenience and comfort, meeting most of our customer needs under one roof,” chief executive officer Ravi Singh said. 

“Waigani Central will have a brand new supermarket – PNG’s first department store, a three-screen cinema complex (Paradise Cinema), a home depot offering all hardware needs, Homemaker – offering a wide range of world-renowned brands and value-driven private labels in homeware and electronic appliances.

“It also includes an Eagle Boys Pizza outlet, Boncafe and a City Pharmacy store.

“CPL is committed in providing the best services for our customers,” he said.

Singh joined the City Pharmacy Ltd Group in 2003, having prior experience in retail industry in India. 

He held several roles at CPL Group and was well established in the company’s affairs and operations. 

He joined as strategic planning manager and then worked through the ranks holding various management positions including senior category manager and general manager buying before becoming acting CEO in July 2008. 

Singh was appointed as the CEO on Jan 1, 2009. 

He is also on the board of Hardware Haus Ltd and Paradise Cinema Ltd, and is a professional member of the Papua New Guinea Institute of Directors.

“My personal goal is to lead CPL Group with honour and humility achieving sustained growth, constant innovation and benefit the communities we operate in,” he said.

“CPL Group continues to expand as Papua New Guinea’s largest retailing network with our medium- to long-term position through capital investments, strong organic growth and plans for acquisition.”
