FINANCE Secretary Dr Ken Ngangan says the Government has paid out all Service Improvement Programme funds to all the districts last year.
“We have fully funded all the SIP (K10million per district). The last bit of the K1.9 million is going out today (yesterday). That is a record in the history of our sub-national funding in 2018. And this year will be the same.”
Ngangan yesterday met staff of the department at Vulupindi Building in Port Moresby to start the 2019 operation.
“The close of 2018 public accounts has improved, and it is a much improved close of public accounts. So we are now preparing for the opening of the 2019 accounts on a good footing.”
Ngangan said they achieved many things on financial reforms last year which they also expected this year.
“One of an achievements is the rolling out of the Integrated Finance Management Systems to all the provincial finance offices. And we plan to roll it to all the district finance offices by the end of the year.”
