Sipaia beach out of bounds

 THE popular Sipaia beach at Wagang village is temporarily off limits to visitors following troubles there.

Village councillor John Galang said outsiders have picnics at the beach and consume alcohol and end up fighting among themselves or with villagers.

Galang said that, many times, villagers who intervened to stop a fight find themselves being attacked.

He said visitors also do not respect property and walk into the bushes of their own volition and collect whatever they can.

The villagers have complained about these actions and have asked him to let the public know that the beach is now closed to outsiders and will re-open at a date yet to be decided.
