Sir Bob, wife to celebrate Independence Day in Madang

GOVERNOR-GENERAL Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae and Lady Emeline will be celebrating the 46th Independence Day celebrations in Madang.
He will also be presenting the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medals to people who have made outstanding contributions to the province and country in church and community work, music, government, business, health and education. Traditional dancers were at the airport to welcome them while school children lined the streets waving flags.
Madang Governor Peter Yama said it was an honour for the province to have the vice-regal couple in the province for a week.
“It is a bonus for us to have the Governor-General here,” he said.
Sir Bob will also witness technical skills students receive their certificates after training in the Philippines last year through the sponsorship of the Madang provincial government.
