Sir Mekere’s son should take his place

I EXPRESS my condolences to the family of late Sir Mekere Morauta, Lady Rosalyn and James Morauta for the untimely death of their husband, father, MP, and former prime minister of Papua New Guinea.
His death leaves a big vacuum in terms of the type leadership that this country needs. But, as always, when a father is a doctor, a child in a family follows his footsteps.
It is our wish that late Sir Mekere’s son James follow his father’s legacy and contest the Moresby North West election.
Many of us will rally behind James as we believe he will serve well.
It is up to the family of late Sir Mereke to decide but the nation is behind this notion to give James a chance to carry on the work his father left behind.
