THREE books by two local authors in East New Britain will be launched at the Kokopo Secondary School hall this month.

The first two are by former Governor-General Sir Paulias Matane, a prolific writer, and the third by Benedict Warwakai, 25, the great-grandson of the earliest local Catholic missionary, Blessed Peter Torot.

Sir Paulias said April 26 would be a historical day, to launch the books as most schools in the province have been invited to attend the event which former senior statesman Sir Rabbie Namaliu will be officiating.

For Sir Paulias, 82, they will be his 48th and 49th books. Sir Paulias said there were two more in the works to be published soon.

Sir Paulias is from Viviran village in the Toma Vunadidir LLG of Gazelle district.

Warwakai, from Ramale village, write “My Graduation” when he was a student at Divine Word University in Madang.

Warwakai had said that he was inspired by Sir Paulias to start writing his book and had managed to finish his manuscript which was sent to Sir Paulias’ publisher.

He is working on a second book.
