“Helping to grow the economy of Bougainville is very important,” he said.
“Prime Minister James Marape is so passionate to grow the economy of Bougainville.”
He welcomed the United Nations Development Programme assistance in planning an economic summit in Bougainville. It will be held after ABG election.
Sir Puka was yesterday at the launching of the five year (2020-2025) national coordination office for Bougainville Affairs (NCOBA) corporate plan and website in Port Moresby.
He said the Government, ABG and development partners would together grow the economy of Bougainville.
“And it may mean for example just fine-tuning a few little things in the areas of revenue stream or just improving the administrative process to improve tax collection and rearranging the administrative structure of ABG to ensure that the (tax revenue collection ) system is working.”
He said “these are exciting times”.
“We look forward for the completion of the ABG election, who will be the new President and then we will look forward for the first dialogue.”
