THE Defence Force has reported 10 deaths in a remote village in Nipa Kutubu district of Southern Highlands.
It said in a statement that six out of the 10 bodies had been found and were accorded proper funerals.
Three of the missing four are Homa Primary School students Henri Kiliape, Hengene Kila and Simon Andali.
The fourth is Sali Wawi who is married with a son, according to fellow villager Robert John. Their bodies were hard to locate as they were buried after a huge landslide.
Two Defence Force helicopters went on a medivac mission to Homa and Pawa villages in Kutubu to bring back 22 government workers and sick people.
Hundreds are using the Pawa Primary School classrooms as an evacuation centre.
