SIX teachers have received further training on early childhood education at the Gentamo Head Start School in Lae.
The teachers received their certificates on Monday after a two-week workshop on early childhood teaching.
The school was established in 2013 as a School of Early Childhood, focusing on educating children between the ages of two-and-a-half to eight years.
The programme has trained more than 400 elementary and early childhood teachers in Kabwum district and Morobe.
Teacher Lode Oboko said they were the first teacher trainers to implement the Morobe government’s education reform in terms of providing early childhood education in the province.
“We will train them to become early childhood teachers. Whenever the Morobe Government wants us to go and train new teachers on how to provide early childhood education, we will go,” she said
The workshop included lessons based on children development and phonics.
