Six women receive CPL awards

SIX women have been named as recipients of the CPL Group’s Pride of Papua New Guinea Awards for Women 2012.
The women were honoured at a ceremony last Thursday at the Parliament State
Function room.
The winners in the six categories were picked from more than 434 entries
nationwide.
Group marketing manager Prue Go said this was the highest number of entries received since the programme’s inception in 2007.
The event was attended by awards patron, Governor-General Sir Michael Ogio and Lady Esmie, Linda O’Neill, wife of the prime minister, local and foreign dignitaries and community business
representatives.
The winners are:

  1.     Christine King, of East New Britain Education Role Model;   
  2.     Kauna Pfeifer Girua of Chimbu  Community Spirit;
  3.     Jessica Wape, of Morobe  Young PNG;
  4.     Late Linda Passingan, of East New Britain,  Environment;
  5.     Tessie Soi, of Port Moresby, Care and Compassion; and
  6.     Rose Tsiroats, of Bougainville, Bravery and Courage.
