Skilled labour answer to school dropouts
The National, Wednesday February 18th, 2015
EDUCATING a skilled labour force is a solution to the issue of school dropouts, Kim Sutherland says.
Sutherland is the director of Foreign Exchange, an organisation which offers a range of education and residential services in Townsville, Australia.
She said the organisation would like to work with the provincial governments to provide tailor-made education to the individual needs of each province. She said the programme offered would develop a skilled labour force thus easing the burden on the education system and addressing the increase in dropouts.
Sutherland commended the regional member for Bougainville Joe Lera for educating people in his province.
Lera has set up a partnership with Foreign Exchange to educate people there.
