SMEs told to grab business opportunities

SMALL to medium-sized enterprises in East New Britain have been urged to seize business opportunities available to them.
John Talele, chief executive of the Kokopo City Council, said Kokopo district had a policy to support SMEs but that policy was useless if businesses did not grab the opportunities to make money.
Talele was speaking on Friday at an entreprenual workshop.
“Our government has a policy in place to empower and support SMEs,” Talele said.
“The government has made Kokopo a regional business hub. There are a lot of things happening.
“It is up to the SMEs to take advantage of what is going on around them and sell their products and services.”
