Smoker triggers fire alarm prompting quick rush to the street

OFFICERS and visitors had to evacuate the 10-floor Treasury Building in Port Moresby yesterday after a fire alarm went off.
Journalists who were covering an assignment at the top floor joined the others during the evacuation of the building. They watched as Papua New Guinea Fire Services officers attended to the emergency, and allowed everyone back inside after they inspected the building.
It was reported that an officer smoking on the third floor had triggered the fire detector.
