SNIPERS men and U-Mi Yet women reclaimed the Vailima Cup in the  National Capital District Volleyball Association competition on Saturday at Hohola Volleyball Courts.
Both teams scooped the Vailima Cup and K1,500 each.
Snipers lost the title to Scorpions last year while U-Mi Yet suspended matches for a year after the death of one of their player.
Sniper men pulled off a 3-2 victory over Juma Thunders a sweet revenge after their defeat in the round robin games earlier.
But Juma were handicapped without trio Richard Kila, George David and Timo Kila, who were on national duties and the shooters led by Gerea Kila and Tuksy Maino took advantage of the situation to claim the major honors.
Juma had Veleke Kila, Charlie David and Stanley Gele, but ran out of steam.
On the women’s court, U-Mi Yet brushed aside an experienced Snipers outfit, 3 -1.
Well-timed blocks in the middle by U-Mi Yet’s Ruth Adams and Emma Palawa slowed down Snipers hitters Helai Oala, Isa Hicks and Kaini Tau and that laid the foundation for victory.
U-Mi Yet’s playmaker Patricia Hani’s hands were great on the day and her hitters led by Luana Travertz, Nellie Lavari, Velma Alu and Vagi Gamini had a feast of kills at the net.
Scorpions pipped Ela Motors in straight sets for the men’s third placing and their women gave Grass Hoppers the same treatment 3-2.
Winners received K1500 each, runners-up K800 and third-place finishers got K400.
