Soccer federation announces Besta challenge dates

THE Papua New Guinea Football Association has announced the dates for the 2015 Regional Besta Cup Soccer Challenge.
The Southern region leg will take place in Nawone, Kiunga, Western, while Wabag will host the Highlands leg.
The Momase and New Guinea Islands region are yet to confirm their venues.
However, the dates for tournaments at respective regions are Southern, June 11-14; Highlands, June 18-21; NGI and Momase, August 6-9.
The International Food Corporation through the brand name “Besta” will sponsor this year’s tournament.
The focus of the competition is on lifting the standard of football to the same standard as the National Soccer League with the Besta FA Cup a great opportunity for rural associations to expose their players on a national level tournament.
The Southern Region will conduct a D-licence coaching and refereeing course — prior to the competition — from June 5-10.
The PNGFA secretariat office is calling for expressions of interest from its members to confirm their participation. It is compulsory for all member associations to enter a men’s and women’s team.

The deadline for payment for the Southern and Highlands is May 29 while Momase and NGI is July 24.
