Social issues affecting society

Letters

PAPUA New Guinea is a Christian country and we value Christian principles.
However, it is repellent when the society is in social disorder.
Stupidity will increase and morality will be decaying.
Christianity is fading away.
Social disorder is a disease and it is becoming a norm these days.
People have their own ways of thinking.
Lack of respect brings confusion in communities.
We can say corruption is the root cause of all social disorders but if we assess ourselves, we all contribute to the problems.
For instance, rape. Rape is not a natural disaster.
Fancy dressing by woman trigger rape.
Women under the influence of alcohol also attract unwanted attention which leads to rape.
We can blame the offenders for their inhuman actions but victims are to be blamed too.
If a female is dressed decently and stays at home, she is not likely to become a rape victim.
Some issues that also needs to be discussed are; homebrew consumtion, smoking of marijuana, proper dressing code (for women), education, job opportunities for youths, child abuse, gambling (playing cards) and urbanisation.
These issues should be addressed to minimise the alarming rate of social disorder.
The Government’s slogan “Take Back PNG” is a good start to prosperity.
Prosperity will bring end to all social issues.
We cry for corruption to be eradicated.
Corruption is deeply rooted and has become part of the PNG culture.
Corruptions starts from the top public servants to ordinary citizens .
To eradicate corruption, address the issues mentioned.
These issues should be addressed as the first step to “Take Back PNG”.
The Government is the only answer to this call.
When a blind leads another blind, it leads into the drains.
Take actions so we achieve our 2050 vision.
