TEACHERS Savings and Loans Society chairman Gabriel Tai opened the newly-built society security base on San Piper Street, Gordons 5, last Friday.

Tai said since its inception in 2010, the security service had been operating out of Tisa Haus in Waigani.

He said it was an initiative by former chairman William Varmari, who was now a director.

Tai thanked Varmari for his effort, saying Tisa Haus was too crowded for the security operations and the new base was needed.

“The TSL security service was mainly for TSL staff, residential properties and main offices in Port Moresby and Lae,” Tai said.

“There are l76 security guards, 54 in Port Moresby and 22 in Lae.

“TSL has plans to expand to meet the demand as security has become a concern in cities like Port Moresby, Lae and other centres.

“I appreciate and commend the management team. The TSL management, partners and individuals who have contributed consistently in one way or another.

“It was a milestone achievement for TSL. I would like to acknowledge a job well done by the contractors, Tulait Consulting Architects spearheaded by Vincent Kambuou and GMAN Construction led by project manager Elmo Mitio,”.
