Soldiers did the right thing

I COMMEND members of PNGDF who ridiculed the police officers guarding parliament during the protest march.
It is such reports that spark patriotism in the hearts of citizens when we see our armed personnel rationalising issues and acting upon their own understanding of what is right and wrong.
The question the soldiers posed  – “Is your job to protect parliamentarians or maintain law and order?” – was good and appropriate.
I call on every armed officer to realise the important role they play in this uncharted phase of our young history and I appeal to them to act in the best interest of our democracy.
