Solomon realises dream

Business

AFTER 10 years of hard work and planning, Moses Solomon has finally opened a shop at Nadzab in Lae.
Moses had been planning to set it up while studying at the Pacific Adventist University and Divine Word University.
“I planned to own a shop in 2011 while studying at PAU,” he said.
“I worked towards achieving that dream by selling flex cards and biscuits while studying.”
In 2017, Solomon built a small canteen at his home near the Nadzab Airport.
Last year, when he saw that the demand for goods was high, he decided to extend it into a mini-shop.
He bought a piece of land for K5,000 at Nadzab in 2012 and started the business called DJ Trading.
Solomon urged those graduating from universities to, instead of looking for jobs, create their own.
“It is about time intellectuals created our own businesses and compete with foreigners doing business in our country,” he said.
