SOLOMON Islands premier club, Kakamora FC, arrived on Saturday in Port Moresby for two friendly international matches with PNG champions Hekari United FC during the Independence Day.
The Kakamora have accepted an invitation by Hekari United FC for the friendly matches as part of their build-up towards the O-League challenge which commences in Oct 17.
The Solomon Islanders were met by PNGFA senior vice-president John Kapi Natto and his officials from PNGFA office at Jackson International Airport.
Mr Kapi Natto said PNGFA and Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) have sanctioned the tournament.
The vice-president said that the first match would be on tomorrow and the second match would be on Thursday.
Tickets for these two matches to be played at Lloyd Robson Oval are going for K15.00 (adults) and K2.00 (children) at the grand stand while K2.00 for the outer-stands.
Kapi Natto said Hekari would not take Kakamora lightly as they had stamped their mark at Lawson Tama Stadium by defeating Marist and Makaru FC.
“They have some of the best players in the Pacific, so Hekari will field its best 11 to win this match,” he said.
Kapi Natto appealed to all soccer supporters to barrack for Hekari as they would represent PNG at this year’s O-League.
