Somare ready to take over the reigns

Letters, Normal

DESPITE the opposition’s claims of an impending change of government, I believe the MP for Angoram and senior minister Arthur Somare has the ability to become the prime minister.
In my opinion, Somare has been groomed by his father Sir Michael Somare, the founding prime minister of Papua New Guinea.
Sir Michael has been in parliament for 42 years since 1968 without failure.
Somare has learnt the art of politics and leadership through daily interaction with his father since he was a kid.
His father has directly and indirectly imparted skills of political leadership into him.
Somare, as an MP, is a key member of the ruling government, is ready to take over the reigns from his father.
I believe he will be a good leader in the years ahead.
