INFRASTRUCTURE development will be a key area of focus for Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso during her five-year term in office.
Soso said over the weekend in Goroka that infrastructure had to be improved to pave the way for tangible developments could be seen in the province.
“I will prioritise infrastructure by maintaining existing roads and opening up new smaller roads for the people to have access,” she said.
“Road networks are very essential for the people to transport their agricultural products to markets to sell and to access basic services.
“Most of our people in the electorates are cut off from having access to urban centres because of worse road conditions.”
Soso said she would make funds available to all the electorates in the province and urged local members to work with her to deliver services.
