Sought ways to assist customers

Letters

THE superfunds and employers should come up with strategic ways on how to help those staff laid off or those who they consider laying off soon due to the state of emergency extension. How can they access their 20 per cent contribution savings at this time of lockdown, especially lodgment of application?
There are two reasons that I think employers should deal directly with superfunds to make laid off staff withdrawals available.
It was not their intention to quit employment but being laid off due to this pandemic.
Both applicants and superfund customer service front liners are human beings and can be affected if we are not careful about social distancing practices.
Our aim in line with SOE is to discourage public gatherings and as stakeholders, we should consider proactive approaches.
Employers have all their employees’ personal information in their data base.
The newly formulated or amended withdrawal form be made available to all contributing employers.
Employers’ HR payroll department will fill all relevant information and forward to superfunds.
Verification of employment and the reason of withdrawal is all in there.
Our goal is to practice social distancing and at the same time assisting our citizens in this time of need.
