Sounds good but only time will tell

I READ with interest the opening speech of our prime minister during his PNC party’s national convention in Lae recently.

It was brief, succinct and to the point in relation to major development initiatives his government plans to carry out during its term in office.

It was very impressive to learn of the government’s intention to boost the rural economy in the form of agricultural development and open up transport infrastructure.

Although changes do not come about over-night as they take time, I believe many of these initiatives will actually occur during this government’s term in office.

Or are those speeches only mere promises that we are used to hearing day in and day out from our leaders?
