South Fly people’s boat still missing

I WRITE to raise concerns about the boat that was bought for the people of South Fly district in Western province.
This issue was raised in Parliament by South Fly MP Aide Ganasi MP last year and the Prime Minister set up a special parliamentary committee to investigate it.
That report was made public at beginning of this year but to date nothing has been done about it.
It was no secret we know that senior government officials and politicians were implicated in that report and so we want to see that justice is done to them.
We want to know why the boat belonging to the South Fly people ended up in one of the New Guinea Islands provinces, which was alleged to have been purchased at more than the value of the boat using the Western Province people’s money.
I now call upon the National Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate Supt Mr. Mathew Damaru who also comes from the South Fly district to investigate or prosecute those who were implicated in that report as the money belonged to you as well.
I believe that the copy of that report was delivered to your office as stated by a weekly newspaper.
I want to challenge those so-called elites of Western province who are making negative comments in the social media on the conviction of the Governor Ati Wobiro MP.
It is one of those unfortunate things that has happened while Wobiro was trying to bring in the changes to the province.
It is possible that this could be a political witch hunt as he was the first governor of Western to come out in public to warn those politicians and business people who had access to the funds of Western either through conspiracy or the ignorance of our former MPs.
Even some of those so-called elites from Western knew about these deals but did not have the guts to speak out.
I commend the governor for investing some of that money kept by the Mineral Resources Agency before it disappears.
Just recently Prime Minister Peter O’Neill revealed in the media that the chairman and the board of directors of the defunct PNGSDP are still paid millions of dollars every year and have access to the future generations funds parked in a Singapore bank which no one is allowed to touch that fund.
So to those so-called elites of Western province, how come you could not detect the millions of kina belonging to the people of Western been dished out and benefited by the people from other provinces through corrupt deals.
Come on people of Western province, stop playing petty politics and acting like dogs fighting over the bone and skin when the good part of the meat has been taken away by complete outsiders who had no birth rights in Western province.
