South Korean movement touches six communities

Highlands

THE South Korean community development movement, Saemaul Undong (SMU), has now reached six communities in Eastern Highlands.
Senior community development initiator and SMU leader Lutie Mateo performed an initiation to appoint and endorse young community members of Notofana-Gahuzuha, Michael Kari and Griffins Amuzogipo, to be SMU team leaders.
Mateo presented them with SMU vests and caps and asked them to wear them to remind the communities that they were part of the worldwide SMU community that advocated for positive for communities.
He told members of the community that SMU was a South Korean-founded worldwide movement for community development.
Mateo was part of a delegation from Eastern Highlands that visited South Korea last year to see how the SMU concept helped to develop the country.
