SOUTH Sea Lines Ltd in Lae on Saturday celebrated 600 days without serious injury at work since Nov 2016.
General manager Graeme Hawkins said the celebration marked the progress of the company and its employees in successfully working without major injuries to employees or properties.
“The goal is set every working day,” he said.
“The focus is everyone of us coming to work and going back home safe and sound without injuries.”
Hawkins said the company and its management were vocal on safety at work but each employee’s safety depends very much on the decisions that he or she made. “Everyone of us here is responsible for our own safety,” he said.
