Southern leg of Coca-Cola national schools’ league completed

THE Coca-Cola National School Rugby League Southern Championships ended at the National Football Stadium in Port Moresby yesterday.
“Heaps of raw talent were on display during the two-day event and the best were selected for the Under-14, U16 and U18 boys, and open-girls confederate sides for the national championships in Port Moresby from July 22-27,” Southern director Gwaibo Mairi said.
Mairi commended major sponsor Coca-Cola for making the event possible to promote and develop schools rugby league development programmes in the country.
He also acknowledged the support of sponsors WR Carpenters, PNG Health Assurance and The National.
Coca-Cola Amatil marketing operations manager Megan Taureka-Andrew attended the event yesterday on behalf of the company.
PNG Rugby Football League national competition manager Toksy Nema and NSRL manager Arnold Krewanty extended their gratitude to the respective schools coordinators for organising their teams to participate in the event.
Southern selector Gairo Pepena also participated in the confederate selections.
Pom Souths’ Mudira Gaudi (U14) and Isaac Yanis (U18), and Motu-Koita’s Ako Max (U16) and Esther Moka (open girls) were named the player of the tournament in their divisions.
